Sometimes it will be labeled juncea ‘Alba’ or juncea ‘White’. This plant is thought to be a natural seed variation which was brought into the country from Guatemala in large batches of standard T. juncea.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eT. juncea sp. is wide spread in it's distribution, native to South and Central America, Mexico and the West Indies. This plant can be found growing on trees and rocks at elevations up to 2,400m. The plant grows long, thin, upright foliage which are grey \/ green in colour with a brown base. It forms a tall inflorescence spike with purple, tubular flowers. After flowering, the plant will produce many offsets from it's base and quickly form a nice clump. This is an easy growing, hardy plant which is great for beginners. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePosition:\u003c\/strong\u003e They should receive bright, indirect sunlight. Indoors, an east or west facing window area is ideal. Outdoors under partially shaded conditions is fine but in the colder states protection from frost is required, so an undercover or indoors area is more appropriate. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWatering: \u003c\/strong\u003eAs a general rule, a plant in a hot position will require watering every 2-3 days. In a dark, humid environment watering once per week can often be adequate. This can be achieved by misting or dunking the plant. If outdoors, a hose can be used. When dunking a plant, leave submerged in a bowl of water for 10-20 minutes before shaking off excess water. Air plants love to dry out completely between each watering and must never have water sitting at their base as this will cause the plant to rot.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFertilisation: \u003c\/strong\u003eWe recommend fertilising your Air Plants once a fortnight in the warmer months and once a month through winter.
